THE GREAT THEATRE OF EPHESUS

Rebuilt by the Romans in the 1st century AD incorporating some features of the original theatre built by the Greeks [in the 300’s BC], it was the largest theatre in Asia Minor capable of holding 25,000 people. The Great Theatre is still used for performances. The city of Ephesus is the best preserved classic city in the eastern Mediterranean area.
